Advisory: OCI Services outsourced
 
The Consulate General of India, New York has outsourced the handling of OCI applications to M/s. Travisa Outsourcing.  The outsourcing arrangement in respect of the area falling under the consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India, New York (The Jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, New York is Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.) will come into effect on 15th February, 2011.
M/s Travisa Outsourcing will receive OCI applications with effect from 15th February, 2011.  All applications received by Travisa Outsourcing will be acknowledged to the applicants by the next working day.  For detailed guidelines on submitting the applications, documentation requirements and fee etc., kindly visit the following link:
 
The outsourcing arrangement will not affect the applicants whose applications are already under process. Such applicants will continue to deal directly with the Consulate General of India, New York including submission of additional documents and passports. However, the applicants whose applications have been returned by the Consulate on account of any deficiency will have to resubmit the application to M/s Travisa (and not to the Consulate General of India) after addressing the deficiencies.
 
Important Note: 
• OCI cards will be issued by the Consulate General of India to OCI applicants whose applications have already been processed/approved by us.  You can check the status of OCI application online by clicking:
 
• After seeing the online status : Documents Received at New York on -------- (date will be shown), send your Original US Passport for OCI stamping.  Please quote your "OCI File No."  while sending the US passport.   It will take about 10 working days for us to return your US passport, along with U visa and OCI card through USPS mail.  Please send your US passport to:

OCI Miscellaneous Services - Advisory
 
  • OCI registration certificate and visa have got to be re-issued by availing the OCI Miscellaneous Services, each time a new passport is issued up to the completion of 20 years of age and once after completing 50 years of age.
  • Re-issuance of OCI registration certificate and visa is not mandatory, each time a new passport is issued between 21-50 years of age. However, if the applicant wishes to avail this service, he/she can apply for the same.
