POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

There is no need to take an appointment. Applicants can visit the Embassy/Consulate on any working day between 09.15 to 11.45 am . The service will be on first come first serve basis. Before, approaching the Consular Office to seek required service, applicant must be ready with complete application form and other required documents, as mentioned in the Embassy website. This is important to render better and quick service to the applicants.

Please apply strictly as per your jurisdiction for which you have verifiable proof of address. Following is the Consular jurisdiction of the Consulate: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont

The Embassy/Consulate reserves the right to reject attestation of documents, the contents of which are objectionable or contrary to the Rules.

Note: Consular Services are not provided to those applicants having Asylee or Refugee visa status.

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) will be issued only after confirmation of applicants Police Verification Records from the system. In the absence of confirmation through the system of Embassy/Consulate, matter will be referred to concerned authorities in India for clearance with a minimum time frame of 30 days. 

Applicants with foreign passports (other than Indian passport) applying for PCC may provide complete details of their stay in India, including date/month/year of their stay with complete residential/official addresses. Such cases will be processed only after obtaining clearances from authorities in India and may take more than 30 days for processing. 

How to Apply (in Person): 

1.

Download the FORM F and fill it up carefully. Each parent is required to fill up separate FORM F  and affix his/her photograph on the same.

2.

Applicant may fill up the Nationality Verification Form

3.

Applicant’s current valid passport in original and its photocopy. Those having Indian passport may provide original and photocopies of the first five pages and last two pages of the passport.

4.

Original and photocopy of the document showing valid US Visa Status.

5.

Original and photocopy of any of the following documents as proof of residence: US Driving License, Utility Bill, Lease Agreement, State Identity Card, and Mortgage Deed. Note: Bank/credit card/mobile phone statements are not accepted as residence proof. 

6.

Carry all original supporting documents for presentation to the Consular Officer. Photocopies of these documents may be attached with the application.  Ensure that photocopies of these documents are legible.

7.

Fee:  A non-refundable fee of US$25/- (if the current passport is issued from the New York Consulate) and US$40/- (if the current passport is issued elsewhere + US$2/- towards Indian Community Welfare Fee (ICWF) per attestation. The fee may be paid through cash only.

PERSONAL CHEQUES, CREDIT CARDS, DEBIT CARDS OR OTHER BANKING INSTRUMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

8.

Applying by Post:

 

1.

2.

Applicant may fill up the Nationality Verification Form

Self attested copy of the document showing valid US Visa Status.

4.

Self attested copy of any of the following documents as proof of residence: US Driving License, Utility Bill, Lease Agreement, State Identity Card, and Mortgage Deed.

5.

Fee:  A non-refundable fee of US$25/- (if the current passport is issued from the New York Consulate) and US$40/- (if the current passport is issued elsewhere) + US$2/- towards Indian Community Welfare Fee (ICWF) per attestation. The fee may be paid through money order/cashiers’ cheque in favour of Embassy/Consulate if applying in person.

PERSONAL CHEQUES, CREDIT CARDS, DEBIT CARDS OR OTHER BANKING INSTRUMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

6.
